There are times when property or business owners believe that they are adversely affected by decisions made by the City and wish to appeal. Tribunals are quasi-judicial bodies that hear from the affected citizens, examine evidence, review decisions and bylaws and then adjudicate on the concerns or complaints.
Assessment Review Board (ARB)
ARB hears all appeals (Complaints) relating to property assessments, business-revitalization assessments and local-improvement taxes.
CSLAC is a Standing Committee of Council established to deal with reviews and appeals regarding business licences and to decide remedies for contraventions of municipal bylaws regarding unsafe and unsightly properties.
SDAB hears appeals from people who have been affected by a decision of the Development Authority and the Subdivision Authority.
